Pole Compatibility Guide
Ensure your flag style matches your pole diameter:
- Regular Whip (Slide-Over): Fits whips with a diameter between 1/4″ and 3/8″.
- Lighted Whip (Slide-Over): Fits lighted whip poles up to 1″ in diameter.
- Clip Systems (Regular & Lighted Whips): Flags designed for clip systems come with 2 brass grommets pre-installed directly on the heavy-duty sleeve.
Hardware, Poles & Quick-Change Mounting Options
- Poles & Accessories Sold Separately:Because every machine and trail regulation requires specific heights, whip poles are not bundled with individual flags. You can configure your setup with our heavy-duty black or white fiberglass whip poles directly through our shop.
- Upgrading to a Quick-Change Clip System:Converting a standard whip pole to a quick-release setup takes only minutes. Our pre-assembled whip clip kits match standard pole diameters, allowing you to swap out your flags or take them down between trail runs without reaching for tools.
- Safe Mounting for LED Lighted Whips:If you run powered or LED lighted whips, use dedicated Rubber-Lined Flag Clips. The thick internal rubber cushion grips securely while shielding the light tubes and wiring from scratches, scuffs, and trail vibrations.
- Attaching Grommeted Flags Securely:While heavy-duty zip ties can secure grommeted flags in an emergency, using a dedicated clip kit delivers significantly better performance. Clip systems let you clip your flags on fast, prevent sleeve tearing, and drastically reduce stress on the grommets at high speeds.

Step-by-Step Whip Flag Mounting Instructions for Slide-Over Flags
Flags that slide over the pole include all necessary mounting hardware—including a zip tie and a metal clamp—for a quick setup. Proper installation ensures your safety flag remains secure and compliant with BLM OHV safety flag requirements:
Step 1:
If your pole has a bolt mount at the base, slide the metal clamp onto the pole first. (If there is no bottom bolt mount, you can install the clamp at the very end.)
Step 2:
Slide the whip pole through the flag sleeve to your desired mounting height.
Step 3:
Using your thumb and index finger, gently scrunch the top of the flag sleeve downward to expose the inner nylon strap.
Step 4:

Fasten the heavy-duty zip tie tightly around both the nylon strap and the pole, then snip off the excess tail.
Step 5:

Slide the metal hose clamp over the nylon strap and pole, then tighten securely with a flathead screwdriver.
Step 6:

Pull the flag sleeve material back up to fully cover the nylon strap, zip tie, and metal clamp.
Your flag is locked down and trail-ready!
